Some critics believe that Apple has spoiled the fun element of its casual and entertaining computing device and unnecessarily rendered it more complicated by integrating the iWork productivity software set in it. How true this allegation is, is certainly a subjective assessment which will also be clarified after the piece has seen its launch in the market. Already a common component of Mac computers, this software suite in iPad consists of three apps: Keynote (presentations), Numbers (spreadsheets), and Pages (word-processing). This suite specifically designed for the iPad is the first of its kind to firstly, run on a portable device of Apple and secondly, fully exploit the touch screen utility of the iPad. Apple is listing delayed shipping dates for several of its iPad accessories. the pushed dates are signaling strong demand for the tablet device, some speculate, with the listings appearing days after the availability of iPad pre-orders. While accessories like the Keyboard Dock, and the Dock Connector to VGA Adapter are to become available soon, the iPad Camera Connection Kit remains absent altogether. Several sources, including Macworld and Electronista are pointing out the pushed shipping dates, suggesting the delays may be tied to high demand of the tablet device unveiled by Apple in January at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, in San Francisco. an analysis by Investor Village’s AAPL Sanity board looked at the number of units sold in the first day (including specific device models) and determined that Apple sold between 120,000 and 150,000 iPads on day one of pre-order availability. Reports then followed, dismissing such claims, suggesting that iPad pre-orders hadn’t actually hit the 40,000 units mark. the subject is still being debated. Continue reading »

I am leaning towards the case, the keyboard, and the camera kit. of course, it is only sort of my own money, so I might be more willing to buy something I wouldn’t have purchased previously (much like the iPad itself).
