I like a lot of Dell’s newer laptops, and I had hoped to like the company’s newly Core i5-enhanced Inspiron 15 (1564 variant). this model has a lush widescreen and isn’t too big, and the glossy shell looks nearly as good as the Apple aesthetic it apes. at about $934 (as of March 9, 2010) when it isn’t on sale, the 1564 is a reasonably priced all-purpose laptop with a substantially more than adequate chunk of silicon at its heart. But it doesn’t give you a lot of ways to get all that power out and onto the screen of your choice, and the keyboard is an uncomfortable mess. Typing this review means that I’m finally, blissfully close to not having to use this keyboard ever again. (Yes!)

Dell has added another model to its range of ultra-thin laptops. after the $2000 Adamo and the $1799 MacBook Air, the Adamo XPS is another amazingly thin and light laptop that will definitely be turning some heads. But some experts are not happy with the laptop, as they feel that in order to fit in style and panache, Dell seems to have compromised on performance and features.

Sources tell me, OK friends actually, that tomorrow, September 4th, is the long-awaited day that Dell will announce the release of its Inspiron 910… whoops they changed the name on me, it’s the Inspiron Mini 9 — mini-laptop. it will come with your choice of (Boo!) Windows XP Home SP3 or (Yea!) Ubuntu 8.04.
Before any Windows business users rush out to spend their hard-earned money on this spiffy little computer, they should keep in mind that Ubuntu Linux is actually friendlier with Windows-based business networks than XP Home, which can only do security-less, peer-to-peer networking. So, if you want to be a business road-warrior the Inspiron 910, chances are you’ll actually want to use Ubuntu.

Budget laptops are the new craze in computers as more and more users are seeking mobile solutions without paying a huge price. It makes sense to cut down on expenses by choosing a laptop that is restricted to the particular needs of the user. Business travelers are especially demanding better and better solutions for good quality cheap laptops that are easy to carry. The demand is strong. So much so that it is giving many manufacturers reason to sweat. big names in the laptop market have come out with many laptops that fall within a limited price ceiling, are good in feature and performance and at the same time are light and small. It is not easy to find out the best cheap laptop as there are many models to choose from and some budget laptops cut down too much on feature.

Purchasing an Environmentally Friendly Laptop to Save the Earth
Purchasing a laptop is a smart environmental decision when compared with purchasing a desktop pc. the main reason being that a notebook is smaller than a desktop so there is less of an environmental impact at the time of disposal. the slim size of the flat laptop means that there are smaller and less hazardous parts to be disposed of, such as hard drives, cd/dvd drives, flash card readers, usb ports, etc. the manufacturing of smaller and smaller laptop computers also has in indirect effect, in that the processing plants produce less harmful emissions into the environment. Another factor that makes laptops a better environmental decision is the fact that most laptops now comply with European regulations on lead-free computing, such as the WEEE (Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment) and RoHS (Restrictions of Hazardous Substances), which are mandated disposal codes in Europe. Lead is used primarily to solder parts together on a computer, but these regulations encourage companies to use other methods for building a PC.

“I have mentioned before that I use a number of Bluetooth peripherals with my portable computers. This is one of those things where, the more I use it the more I like it. I’ve now gotten to the point where I feel like if you have a laptop/notebook/netbook computer and you aren’t using Bluetooth with it, you’re at least missing out on some things, and you’re probably going to unnecessary trouble and/or expense. With the latest Linux distributions, Bluetooth is really easy to set up and use, and it works very well for a variety of peripherals. I currently use the following:
